1. Prohibited conduct
Users must not:
- Upload confidential NHS documents
- Upload patient-identifiable information
- Upload clinical records
- Share sensitive patient information in any form
- Misrepresent their qualifications, position or identity
- Advertise fraudulent, misleading or non-existent research opportunities
- Harass, discriminate against, or misuse contact information obtained through the platform
- Attempt to circumvent verification or account controls
- Use the platform to solicit paid work or commercial services
2. Patient confidentiality
ProjectMed must never be used for sharing patient information, NHS records or confidential clinical material. Where a research project requires access to patient data, all appropriate approvals — including HRA, REC, NHS Trust R&D and Caldicott approvals as applicable — are the sole responsibility of the collaborating parties.
3. Intellectual property
ProjectMed does not determine authorship, publication credits, intellectual property ownership or contributor order. These arrangements must be agreed between collaborators before work begins and are governed by the guidelines of the institution and publisher concerned (for example the ICMJE authorship criteria).
4. Reporting concerns
If you encounter any of the following, please report it to reports@projectmed.co.uk:
- Inappropriate or unprofessional behaviour
- Fraudulent or misleading opportunities
- Misrepresentation of qualifications
- Suspected breaches of patient confidentiality
- Any conduct that would fall below the standards expected of a UK healthcare professional
Reports are reviewed by ProjectMed administrators and, where appropriate, may be escalated to the individual's medical school, employing NHS Trust, or relevant regulator.
5. Enforcement
Users who breach this Policy may have their accounts suspended or permanently removed and their project listings archived. Serious breaches — including those affecting patient safety or professional integrity — may be reported to the appropriate regulator.
